Just some oil lines waiting to go on, You can see the two fuel pumps in the background, one which feeds from a second pickup.

Car got stoptech 6 pistonF/4 pistonR w/ 355mm rotors. With how quickly it gets into triple digits, it needs to stop well too.
This is a drive shaft axle seal, I would say half of the CV jointed drive shaft BMWs we have our heads under this has magically disappeared. As in a dealer or indy shop had no idea it needed to be inspected each time the drive shaft came off and care taken when being put back on. The result is the packing grease gets flung out all over the underbody and the CV joint begins to lose lubrication. This car was caught in time.
Turbo having been installed on the car, you can also see the powerflex FCABs.
We’ve got the motor along with both subframes back in. The clutch and transmission are both in once again, and the driveshaft is in place ready to be bolted back in. Finally, we’re seeing this piece of Estoril Blue sheetmetal turn back into a normal car. . .but that won’t last for long once the turbo parts start going on it! Here’s a few obligatory pictures of some recent updates:

Motor back in, view from top; awaiting turbo goodies now

Freshly cleaned and treated fender liner reinstalled

TCKline D/A shock installed in rear

Oil pump with pretty HPF bracket, transmission back on the motor.

Differential installed. Driveshaft visable along with Powerflex race subframe bushings and reinforcement plates welded in.

HPF head flange installed along with air pump block off plate - now waiting on turbo manifold to be bolted on

Just a picture showing how clean the area surrounding the fuel filter came out
Stay tuned, another update coming shortly!
]]>The engine has been reassembled and put in the car and secured in place to prevent rocking until the transmission is in.
Rear subframe is back on the car, RTABs in, rear shocks in.
Parts have begun to arrive from HPF and there is lots of work to be done.
]]>Ancillary parts need to be removed from the old engine and put on the new.
All of these parts will be thoroughly cleaned before being reassembled with all new gaskets washers and O rings.
]]>motor out, waiting on new one built to HPF specification:

S54 sitting on an engine stand awaiting it’s fate:

Front subframe and gas tank thoroughly cleaned and awaiting reinstallation:

Rear subframe removed for chassis reinforcement - subframe cleaned with Powerflex polyurethane race bushings pressed in:

HPF rear subframe reinforcement kit welded into place and finished with corrosion-inhibiting coating:

Tons and tons of bolts, nuts and miscellaneous parts in countless labeled bins neatly stored on racks around the shop:

The car as it sits now. . .it almost resembles something you’d see at a chop shop; there is very little on the car at this point!

Check back for more updates soon, as the motor and kit should be arriving any day now, and the entire interior is going to be refreshed as well!
